COURSE DESCRIPTION
Goal of the Class? Develop personal & group performance/communication skills through participation in the art of Theatre.
Length of Class? 1 year
Grade Level? 6th grade classes, 7th and 8th mixed classes
Perform Individually? Yes
Perform in Groups? Yes
Perform Full Play? No
Daily Homework: Little homework is given in Theatre. Homework, when given, is usually the result of not completing work in class when given time to do so. Makeup work must be completed, however, when a student misses in class grades/assignments. It is the responsibility of the student to ask for their missed work.
Outside of Class Requirements: None. Students are encouraged to attend departmental productions, but are not required to be involved in after school functions in any way until they take JV and Varsity Theatre. Extra credit is given, however, if students choose to attend any live theatrical productions outside of school (see the LOCAL PLAYS tab above).
Supplies Provided by Mrs. Shanks: Almost everything you need! EXCEPT: writing utensils and scene costumes and props!
Supplies Needed Daily: Pens/Pencils -- TO BE BROUGHT TO CLASS DAILY.
